Being in The Cosy Club

As the summer months make way for colder weather, dressing your kids for those in-between temperatures becomes somewhat of a balancing act. It’s not quite chilly enough for a chunky knit, but it’s definitely not warm enough for a T-shirt either! That’s where our soft jersey collections come in. Anca Ungureanu, our buying coordinator, recommends layering up their wardrobe with things like sweatshirt dresses, tracksuits and tops made in thick cotton jersey. We love Chloé’s cosy sweatshirt dress with its pretty embroidery and kangaroo pocket for keeping their hands toasty warm — layered over tights and accessorised with a scarf, her look will be as cosy as it is chic. And for boys, this MSGM tracksuit with its snuggly, soft brushed lining offers the perfect base for building his winter wardrobe.

If you’re looking to add a little luxury to their Cosy Club look, cashmere is the most luxurious yarn in the wool family. Thanks to its fine, delicate fibres, cashmere feels almost like silk and is lightweight yet warm. We love Jamiks’ sweet knitted beret and Bonpoint’s snowflake sweater, both woven with cashmere for the ultimate cosy touch. When their outfit calls for something a little more everyday, Jo Welch, our senior buyer, recommends choosing virgin wool, also known as lambswool, or merino wool. “Both are great for layering,” she says, “and come in all sorts of different styles, including Versace’s pure wool cable-knit sweater and this rather adorable baby outfit set from Il Gufo, made in the softest virgin wool and featuring a friendly bear on the front.”

Sherpa, shearling and fleece are all part of The Cosy Club uniform, and we couldn’t be more delighted about it. Not only do these ultra tactile materials look great, but they also work hard to keep your little ones warm on a cold day. Our designers embraced these soft and snuggly fabrics last season, and our senior buyer Po-Man Ho assures us that they’re here to stay! “This autumn and winter, we’re seeing lots of soft shearling accents and fleecy linings across everything from clothes to accessories,” she says. “And a statement sherpa jacket is a must-have for colder weather!” This reversible Kenzo Kids style is the perfect investment piece — one side is navy with traditional Japanese sashiko stitching and the other is cosy sherpa fleece, complete with the brand’s beloved tiger motif. For babies, it doesn’t get much cuter than Pureté Du... Bébé’s teddy fleece pram coat, ideal for keeping them as snug as a bug when venturing outdoors.

Now, a visit to The Cosy Club wouldn’t be complete without nestling up in our collection of faux-fur designs. “Nothing says warm and cosy quite like faux fur," notes our senior buyer Jo. “Whether it’s a simple accent on a collar or wrapped around a whole coat, it’s sure to make a cuddly style statement.” This beautiful woollen poncho from Paz Rodríguez is a favourite of ours, and we’re sure your little one will love it too. The oversized hood is trimmed with fluffy faux fur which can be detached easily, making for a versatile addition to her winter wardrobe. Chloé’s statement faux-fur coat is also on our wish list! If it’s just a touch of fluff they’re after, why not introduce a pair of Bonpoint’s earmuffs or this cute backpack by Il Gufo to their outfit? Just be warned, you will want to add these to your own collection!
